-Additional Fees to Plan For
The monthly fee you pay covers the cost of professional counseling, 24–hour supervision, room and board, education tuition and supplies, transportation, and curriculum implementation. Your daughter gets a monthly allocation of $100.00 that is included in the tuition. We refer to as ‘petty cash’, and staff assists your daughter in budgeting this for her personal needs. In addition to your monthly tuition, there are other expenses you will need to take into consideration when planning for the cost of the program.
- The Family Challenge Retreat
In May and October, the Family Challenge retreat is held. As stated in the Family Challenge section of this handbook, there is a fee of $250.00 for your family’s food, lodging arrangements, and workshop materials. This fee will be drafted on your account in these months. This fee is required even if circumstances prevent your attendance, so do plan accordingly.
- Medical Expenses and Co-payments
You will be responsible for all of your daughter’s medical expenses. If your medical plan has a co-payment for doctor visits, emergency hospitalizations, or prescription drugs, your electronic account will be used to pay for these. This is a difficult expense to plan for, because there is no way of knowing if your daughter is going to get sick or need emergency care. As a general guideline, consider what your daughter’s medical needs in recent years have been.
- Clothing, Uniforms, and Personal Items
Upon acceptance into the program, a list of items necessary for admission will be given to you. Uniforms on the list cost approximately $500.00. As you well know, teens grow-up. Your daughter may need additional items as time passes. If you wish, you can wait until visits and take your daughter shopping for these items. Or, we can arrange for a staff member to take your daughter shopping as needed. Either way, this will be an expense to plan for.
- Travel and Lodging
This expense includes airfare, rental cars, activities, hotels and meals related to visits, holidays, or family sessions. These expenses can add up quickly if you are not prepared. However, with smart planning and forethought these expenses can be managed. Be sure to refer to the Travel Policies and the Family Challenge sections of this handbook. Listed there you will find considerations to plan for.
- Admissions Fee Use
The admissions fee is used to cover the up-front costs of admission along with psychological testing. It is part of the tuition structure. As stated in the financial commitment form, no refund of fees is expressed or implied by Evangel House™ Christian home and school for girls in the event of a pre-graduation dropout, run away, dismissal, removal, or transfer. The Admissions fee is not refundable. You will not be paid interest on any part of fees paid or your deposit. If at any time you have questions about fees or our financial policies, feel free to call us.
- Billing
Billing is done on the 1st of each month that your daughter is in the program. Full tuition is billed for the first month no matter what day of the month your admission falls on. These days will be credited to you in the 12th month of your daughter's stay.
We strive to provide an excellent service at an efficient cost. Therefore, we do not do ‘billing’ in the traditional sense. This would require a full time billing clerk, postage, printing, and a collection agency. Instead, we use an electronic billing system through our bank. We have software that allows us to draft fees from any major credit card. We will arrange this to meet your convenience needs.
This allows convenient, timely revenue collection and easy accountability for us. For you, it allows for cash flow flexibility, convenience, accurate records of payments, and consumer protection services through your bank or card company.
Another benefit is that it will allow for convenient transfer of money to your daughter when needed. There are times that you may want your daughter to have some extra money, or perhaps there are medical visit co-payments you need to make. Your electronic account will prevent you from ever needing to send money by wire, check or money order. You will only need to call and let us know what you need. You have the option of using different cards or accounts for different fees if you wish, and arrangements can be made by phone. Unfortunately, we cannot accept automatic teller machine (ATM) cards, or check cards for tuition billing.
