...the Mission
The mission of Evangel House™ is to integrate biblical truth and professional clinical knowledge in the development of residential programs for teens and their families. Evangel House™ is founded on the philosophy that true and lasting behavioral change comes through an honest and reciprocal relationship with Jesus Christ. Since 1995 it has been their mission to challenge young ladies to be reconciled to God, themselves, their families, and their communities. Currently Evangel House™ has two programs located in St. Martinville, LA. Banner House serves girls ages 12 to 17. The Transition Study Center serves young women ages 18-22.
...humble Beginnings
Evangel House™ was started in 1995 as Teen Challenge of Acadiana, and remains to this day accredited with honors by Teen Challenge International. In 1999, the leadership recognized that there was a need for non-denominational Christian residential programs which served not only those struggling with substance abuse, but those that served the emotional, academic, and behavioral needs of teens as well. The program was re-shaped, re-structured, and refined to incorporate sound psychological principals into the already strong biblical focus of the residential program. The leadership developed an accredited school, an equestrian program, and a full spectrum of Christian counseling services. Through the process, the result has been the birth of a new philosophy in residential treatment that has proven to be effective.

We aspire to be a house of excellence in which young women's lives are changed, their family relationships are restored, and their God given potential is reclaimed through the ministry of reconciliation.

Authentic -
We believe in the quality of being trustworthy, real, and genuine in relationships with each other, our residents, and with their families. We therefore teach our residents the importance of authenticity in their relationships.
Balanced -
While leading our clients to a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ, we make use of the best that modern professional knowledge has to offer. We do so without compromising the integrity of either.
Family Focused -
While we realize that separation from family is necessary in the service we provide, our goal is to reunite families by preparing them for long term success. We focus on the family as a whole while treating the individual.
Committed-
While we are limited in how many individuals we can reach, we are highly committed to those that we do reach.
Cutting Edge -
We believe in all humility that God has called us to be a position of leadership in the field of residential Christian counseling for troubled teens and their families. We employ the most recent research data, tools, and techniques to be effective to our clients.

We believe that there is great value in serenity, in the absence of pretense, and in the presence of clarity within our program culture.

Our program goals are to:
- Introduce troubled teen girls to a real experience with God through Jesus Christ.
- Support troubled teen girls in overcoming life controlling problems.
- Challenge troubled teen girls to meet their God given potential through education, discipleship, socialization, counseling, and God's love.
...the Future
The leadership of Evangel House™ recognizes a need for more Christian programs to reach struggling teens and their families. They ask you to join them in prayer as they develop a long term vision for a co-ed Wilderness program, a Christian boarding school for boys, and a short term hospital program all based on the refined Evangel House™ treatment model.
