- the evangel house difference
At Evangel House Christian Academy, licensed teachers with advanced degrees administer a nationally accredited curriculum. Our unique and thorough therapeutic evaluation process guides education planning for each student. Student to teacher ratios accommodate learning difficulties presented by complex mood and behavior disorders. An integrative classroom day incorporates biblical teaching, group counseling and academic work.
We offer four accredited educational tracts within our boarding school academic program. Academics at Evangel House Christian Academy are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) as well as the Commission on International Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
Parents may choose from the following four eduational tracts:
-
College Prep Diploma Curriculum
-
General High School Diploma Curriculum
-
Vocational Diploma Curriculum
-
Louisiana General Equivalency Diploma Curriculum. Evangel House Christian Academy is a State of Louisiana approved alternative school.
- a custom tailored education experience
All of our tracts are administered with an emphasis on individual attention. Parents are involved at each step of the planning process. Psycho-educational testing combined with diagnostic tests in English and math are used to form an individualized education plan for each student in our academic boarding school programs. Special consideration is given to those residents diagnosed with learning disorders, ADHD, ADD or behavior & mood disorders. Our low student to teacher ratio allows for individualized attention and tutoring.
- privacy
Our boarding school's academic transcripts and diplomas are administered through Lighthouse Christian Academy, a distance learning school. This allows for privacy when residents transfer or graduate, and the therapeutic nature of the program is not associated with or indicated on academic records.
- transferable credits
Academic work completed at Evangelhouse Christian Academy will transfer to future schools students may attend.
- twelve month school year
Unlike traditional academic prep or boarding schools, our programs run year-round, which allows students to transfer in and transfer out at any point. It allows for students who have fallen behind to catch up with their class. Those who wish to work ahead have the opportunity to graduate early.
- fine arts and enrichment education
In addition to our rigorous academic training, students have the opportunity for an elective music theory credit as part of our curriculum. On weekend enrichment activities students participate in acoustic guitar lessons. If so desired, they have the opportunity for piano, voice or violin lessons as well.
Every spring, students participate in the National Fine Arts Festival. Students may choose from over 52 categories offered in 7 main divisions: Art, Communication, Drama, Exhibition, Instrumental, Vocal, and Writing.
Other enrichment education activities include:
